PRESS RELEASE

Get ready for another one of our fabulous music marathons on people's radio, listener-supported KKUP in Cupertino/Santa Clara. This year we are bringing back the Psychedelic Rock Marathon, which showcases the oldies from FM and AM radio in the 1960s and 70s. This era featured music that made rock into an inspirational art form, reflecting the awakening of consciousness in the 60s. Hear music by the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, the Doors, Country Joe & the Fish, The Byrds, The Who, Jethro Tull, Yes, Genesis, Sly & Family Stone, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, the Fever Tree, 13th Floor Elevators, and hundreds of more obscure and wierd folk, funk, rock and garage bands that will "blow your mind." Groove with this fabulous program all weekend long from March 19th at 2 PM through Midnight Sunday March 21st. What a way to spring into spring, with the wellspring of a new music in America!

The marathon will support KKUP community, peoples radio in Cupertino, which broadcasts from Santa Clara and Loma Prieta since 1972. We are the only all-volunteer, totally listener supported station in the nation, with the freest and most eclectic programming. We broadcast 24 hours a day on 91.5 FM into the San Jose and Santa Cruz areas and points beyond.
